By 4 pm we were at the launching point on the Kingsmere River, which runs from Kingsmere Lake to Waskesiu. About one km of the river flows through boulder rapids, impassable to boats.

On this section, a tramway had been constructed to facilitate the transport of canoes and small power boats to Kingsmere Lake.

We finally arrived at the top of the tramway and put the canoes back into the river for the final two km to the lake.
